A cute cross-eyed kitten, Biglou, started out as a stray wandering the streets, day in and day out. A resident from Montreal, Canada took him home along with many other homeless cats, but she ended up needing a lot of help for them.
Biglou was then rescued and placed in a shelter, anxiously hoping someone could come scoop him up. Whenever someone passed by his kennel, he was eager to get their attention.
Chantal, a local animal rescuer, contacted Chatons Orphelins Montréal, so the cross-eyed kitty could have a chance at a better life. “We took him on right away. Chantal rescued almost all the cats, and helped get them into foster care through different rescues,” Celine Crom of Chatons Orphelins Montréal shared with Love Meow.

Celine went to visit the little guy at the animal clinic to assess his behavior. She quickly noticed the cross-eyed kitten looking in her direction. As she approached Biglou, he started rubbing his face against the door as if he was trying to greet Celine.
He meowed and chirped to his human friend, looking around with his perfectly crossed eyes. “He was an instant love-bug and so sweet and friendly.”

Once he was medically clear, foster volunteers Marie-Lyne and Lucie picked him up and welcomed him into their loving home. “He quickly got comfortable in the home environment and claimed the master bed and the sofa as his own,” Celine shared with Love Meow.
Biglou was very curious and playful from the start, and showed a dog-like personality.

“He is very affectionate and clingy to his humans. As soon as you open the closet, he will jump right in and snoop around for an inspection,” Celine shared with Love Meow.
“He is adamant about keeping bedroom doors open at all times, and will cry and make himself heard if otherwise.”

“He may be slightly clumsy because of his crossed eyes, but he can climb, run and do anything just like any other cat,” Celine added. “He is a curious, rambunctious little guy who just can’t stop playing.”

His foster family came up with an idea to help use up some of his unbridled energy.
They introduced him to a harness, so they could safely take him for a walk in a nearby park and spend the afternoon together, taking in some fresh air and all the interesting scents around them.

“Biglou loves going to the park with his foster family. He is like a puppy and enjoys all the fun activities with them,” Celine told Love Meow.
After a rough start in life, the sweet cross-eyed cat is ready to embark on a new journey at a place of his own.

“He sleeps near his humans every night and gives them kisses in the morning. He is always purring,” Celine added. “Whoever adopts him will be a very lucky family.”
