I first published this review a year ago, but since this summer is already starting out hotter than normal in many parts of the world, I thought this would be a good time to share it again. Putting the cooling blanket to the test
The blanket definitely feels cool to the touch – cooler than the ambient room temperature. It’s also very soft.
I wasn’t sure whether Allegra would go for this blanket since my little girl is a heat seeking missile, following the sun puddles around our house all day long. But I barely had time to fold it and put it on the floor before she claimed it as her own. After she got up from it, the spot were she had rested felt cool to the touch, so the blanket is definitely doing what it’s supposed to be doing.
This is a great blanket for cats who tend to seek out cool spots in the house, or for homes without air conditioning. If your cats tend to not use their beds over the warm months, covering them with this blanket might make them more attractive to them. I think it would also work well in a feral cat shelter during the hot summer months.

If you check the reviews on Amazon, the are all from ecstatic dog owners…..one women said she uses it herself.
I didn’t know anything like this existed. It would be great for summers in my area. My girls miss their sunlight in the summer because I keep the blinds closed where it’s darker in the house so the sun doesn’t heat it up inside.
I just got one for Tasha. The heat in the NE has been awful this past week. Hope it is not a sign of the summer weather to come. Since I don’t have central air in the place, it is a good idea to have a cool spot for my little girl. Thanks for the great recommendation!
This is excellent. We are struggling in this heat wave and my guys have been sleeping in the tub and sinks. I keep it as cool as possible but we live in the top half of a split level and the sun bakes us like an oven despite the ac and fans. I’ve been looking at cooling pads online but the reviews are all over the place as are the prices. I’m glad to hear this works from a trusted source and will be grabbing them asap. I hope the larger ones restock soon, I’d like to have options for everyone in their favorite spots.
