Did you know that all cats have a primordial pouch, even normal weight cats? You may have a different name for the soft, saggy skin underneath a cat’s belly. I’ve heard it called anything from cookie pouch to coin purse to snack pack. When I managed a veterinary practice, one of our clinic cats had a very pronounced primordial pouch, and I used to call it his bed skirt. For more about this part of your cat’s anatomy, its function, and why it’s more pronounced in some cats and not in others, visit the Chewy.com blog.
If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Sunday, we celebrated the 3rd annual Tortoiseshell Cat Appreciation Day, on Monday, Dr. Lynn Bahr answered reader questions, on Tuesday, we ran the second part of our three-part series on moving with cats, on Wednesday, I shared a Ruby memory, on Thursday, we reviewed the Hide & Scratch Combo lounger and scratcher box, and on Friday, we featured beautiful digital watercolor custom portraits.
Today’s video is a bit longer than the videos we usually feature, but it’s such a beautiful rescue story, I just had to share it with you. Enjoy!
Have a great weekend!
