Age is Just a Number! Cat Best Friends With ten Year age gap Looking for Special Home Together

Good To Know

Fluffy and Floss came into the RSPCA’s care in December

The RSPCA in Canterbury is appealing to find a home for two bonded cats who came into the charity’s care as their owner could no longer care for them.

Fluffy and Floss arrived at the RSPCA Wimbledon, Wandsworth and Sutton District Branch in London in December last year and have since been moved to the RSPCA Canterbury and District Branch in Kent to try and find their perfect home.

Fluffy is a 15-year-old long haired tortoiseshell and tabby cat and Floss is a five-year-old tortoiseshell and white cat. Despite their difference in years, these two girls are best friends and need to be rehomed together.

RSPCA Canterbury Deputy Manager, Tara Luxford, said: “We know it may be challenging to find a home for this duo with one being a young cat and one being a golden oldie but we couldn’t possibly split them up – they are inseparable! The pair are totally bonded and so we are looking for a really special home to give them both the second chance at happiness they thoroughly deserve.

“Sadly, they are both struggling with cattery life and are a little wary of interacting with people so we have provided them with lots of hiding spaces to make them feel as comfortable as possible. We are really keen for them to go to a home environment as quickly as possible where they can feel more relaxed and begin to come out of their shell.

“They will need a room of their own to settle into initially so that they can take their time to explore their new property and as they were indoor cats previously, we are quite keen for these two to be given the opportunity to explore outside – although this will need to be done gradually.”

Fluffy and Floss have received full veterinary checks, vaccinations, microchipping, neutering, flea and worm treatments and Fluffy has also had a dental check-up with four teeth extracted so they are now ready to be rehomed.

They are looking for an adult-only home with no other pets and their new owner will need to be patient to give them time to settle in and to understand that they may never be lap cats but will make fantastic companions.
