Golden Oldie Charles came into the charity’s care as he was very underweight
The RSPCA is hoping to find a loving forever home for rescue cat Charles after he has been in the charity’s care for over ten months.
Charles came into the care of the RSPCA Newbrook Farm Animal Centre in Birmingham in January this year as his previous owner could no longer care for him.
The ten-year-old ginger and white cat was very underweight and had a few medical conditions that needed to be treated before he could be rehomed. He was suffering from dental disease and an ear infection but after months of treatment and TLC, Charles is now back to full health and is ready to find his forever home.
Emma Finnamore, Cattery Supervisor at RSPCA Birmingham, said: “Poor Charles hasn’t had much interest yet despite being ready for rehoming since July. He’s a golden oldie boy who is looking for a quiet retirement home. He was a little shy at first but his fosterer says that with a little bit of attention he soon came out of his hiding spot for fuss.
“He is a very loving cat and will follow his fosterer around, especially in the kitchen when he wants some food. He likes a fuss and likes being brushed, particularly his chin and tummy. Charles loves company and doesn’t like to be left alone for too long.
“One of his favourite things is lying next to you on the sofa. He has the occasional playful half an hour where he zooms around but the rest of his time he spends curled up and sleeping.”
