Our lead feature of this week’s round up is my annual warning about Easter Lilies. Ever year, I’m surprised how many cat parents still don’t know how deadly these flowers can be to cats. Just one small bite of a flower, leaf, stem or pollen of this plant, or even drinking from the water they’re kept in, can cause gastric distress, and, more importantly, if left untreated, can lead to fatal kidney failure. For more information, please read my full post here and please spread the word!
If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Sunday, we introduced our new Sunday Cat Love and Above column, on Monday, Dr. Lynn Bahr answered reader questions, on Tuesday, we featured AminAvast, a supplement to support kidney health, on Wednesday, we told you about the next virtual Cat Camp, on Thursday, shared a trick to easily cut small pills, and on Friday, we shared a fantastic resource on how to make interactive play more interesting and fun for your cats.
We previously featured “accidental cat dad” Paris Zarcilla, who came home to find that a cat had wandered into his home and given birth to four kittens under his bed. The Dodo recently compiled this lovely video about his experience and how the little family changed his life – enjoy!
Have a great weekend!
