Kitty, It’s Cold Outside!

Good To Know

If you are a cat lover, you may have adopted a feral cat or are looking after a group of community cats. And as we all know, it gets pretty cold outside during the winter. This is why Catster loves to showcase heated cat houses — like the original and successive cat houses from K&H Pet Products. Senior Manager of Ecommerce Dawn Buffington tell us more about this great line, which comes in both heated and non-heated.

“K&H Pet Products invented the first Outdoor Heated Kitty House back in 2011,” explains Dawn, “and that house continues to be our top seller, with the others trailing closely behind.”

She says the idea was born from their cat customers putting their products (the Extreme Weather Kitty Pad and Lectro-Soft Outdoor Heated Bed) into cardboard boxes, coolers and “just about anything you can imagine that they had laying around.” Emails and photos from customers sparked the idea … “Wouldn’t it be nice if you could buy a heated pad that included the shelter so people didn’t have to figure out what to use on their own?” And instantaneously, the company’s Outdoor Heated Kitty House was born.

Dawn tells us the K&H heated houses are all MET safety listed, durable, proven and a breeze to put together with no tools required. “We’ve been around for over 20 years and have a proven track record when it comes to safe products that help animals and pets have better lives … not to mention how much we love our consumers and their pets.”

And we love that the company gives back. K&H Pet Products has partnered with multiple feral cat groups through events and donations over the years to help cat communities. So, what about the future? Will we be seeing any new cat houses?
