Naughty Video Chats To Selfies: Cats Caught Using Phones

Good To Know

One might think cats and technology don’t mix, but kitty paws are actually itching to reach out and touch someone just like their humans do.

From taking over laptops to phones, cats definitely know how to entertain their humans. Much of the funniest or cutest stuff on the internet features cats. We just can’t get enough of them. And co-founder of the Viral Factory, Matt Smith, has some thoughts on why this is.

Smith told the Telegraph, “Properly nourished cats and kittens love to jump and play around, and so, on a basic level, they are very entertaining to watch. They climb and balance and perform amazing feats. We are mesmerized by their agility.”

Plus, advancements in technology have made it easier to share cats and their antics with the world. Since the earliest days of video cameras, cats have made great subject material. “Back then, owners filmed their pets and would show the footage perhaps to their immediate family or a few friends, but now people share their cat videos, hoping they will become internet sensations.”

Smith is right, the hope for viral status drives posts, but cat lovers are quite thankful for people’s quest for internet fame. The more posts, the more cats for us to laugh at or adore!

Whatever way cats are trying to stay in touch, the photo-ops are amazing.

Kitties Getting Risqué via Screens

And in this cats-and-phone hilarity, some people have been having fun with the idea that cats send each other risqué photos too. This silly trend has come from folks getting froggy with Photoshop. Using first a photo of a kitty in a suggestive pose, then comes the addition of a surprised kitty in small screen, giving the shot a video chat appearance. The result is hysterical and is just another example of cats trying to be like their people…
